ABOUT MIKE SHEPHERD
EVERYDAY THINGS ABOUT ME
I live in Cruden Bay, Scotland, the village where Bram Stoker started writing Dracula. On investigating, I discovered no one before me had researched his visits. I then attracted the attention of Dacre Stoker - great-grandnephew of Bram, who has now visited three times. In 2022 we celebrated the 125th anniversary of the publication of Dracula in Cruden Bay.
CURIOUS THINGS ABOUT ME
The property deeds to my house in Cruden Bay are signed by the 20th Earl of Erroll, who had a walk-on part in Bram Stoker's novel The Watter's Mou'.
I spent three years researching the ancient volcanoes of the Isle of Skye and nearby islands, going on to become a professional geologist.
I am passionate about taking photographs of sunrises and sunsets.
